Andrew: I Need to Tell You Something
Dear Spring Run,
“I need to tell you something.” This was the introductory remark both people said as they approached me. When you hear that line you know that whatever comes next is going to be important. In this case both said, “I became a Christian.” Another person told me that he ‘knew he needed to find a church’ and he happened to drive by ours at 9:25am. He saw the sign and decided that was the day to begin exploring Christianity.
Because you have invited friends to church and the Spirit of God is moving two people became Christians in the last month. Plus many other new people have come to our church. Let that sink in for a minute!
God chooses to work through us to accomplish many things on earth. He uses our words, actions, prayers, service, and money to accomplish his will. Thank you for your volunteer service. Thank you for your continued support as we establish a second service. We really are seeing God’s blessing in it as we step forward in faith. In this Christmas season, I am asking two things of you.
First, will you bring someone new to church during this Christmas season?
Second, would you begin to support the church financially if you have not already? If you already give, will you continue giving regularly?
I realize you get a lot of requests for charities this time of year. I have already received about ten. I want you to know that Spring Run is a good use of your money because it makes a difference. Since we started the second service our attendance is near 300 weekly. Our Sunday School attendance has increased and the Youth Ministry continues to grow. Jobs for Life has been implemented in the city jail. New community groups have begun.
In this Advent season when we remember that God came to us, I see lots of evidence that God is still with us and working here.
Grace and Peace,
