Sunday Morning Worship

An authentic worshiping community

As we worship we are not putting on a show.  Nor do we need to pretend we have it all together.  Rather, we bring our burdens to worship and expect to find rest in God.  Knowing our own struggles and need of the gospel, we welcome those seeking spiritual things and those who are skeptical.

Our worship style  may be described as a reverent yet relaxed environment of passionate and participatory worship. It could be called “ancient-modern” worship. It will draw from our rich historical tradition of hymns and creeds. It will also incorporate the best of hymns and scriptural songs arising in the present day. Our musical style is modern and is eclectic, incorporating the various gifts of our people.

We currenlty meet at Swift Creek Middle School (click here for a map and directions)

What should you expect?
You can expect friendly people to greet you at the door and give you a worship bulletin. Once you find a seat you should feel the freedom to participate actively in our worship or to just listen and observe.

Some of you may be thinking, “My experience of church and religion has only been one of boredom, irrelevance, and hypocrisy. Is this church any different?” We are by no means a perfect church; however, we seek to be engaging, relevant, and authentic. We know you may be satisfied, seeking, or skeptical. We are all at some point in a journey.

The philosopher, and one time atheist, C.S. Lewis claims that the Christian faith is either of ultimate importance or of no importance whatsoever. The one thing it cannot be is “marginally important.”

We hope this will be a new season for you to come investigate the claims of Christ in the context of Spring Run Presbyterian Church and come to your own conclusions.

Where do you meet?
We currently meet at Swift Creek Middle School, located about 1.5 miles from the intersection of Old Hundred Road and Hull Street, near the entrance to Brandermill.  We are in the process of purchasing Woodlake United Methodist Church’s facility at the front of Woodlake. Please visit the BOLDLY website for more information (www.growingboldly.org).

What will my kids do during worship?
Two nurseries are provided during worship, in rooms 224 and 226.  Newborns – 18 months are cared for in room 224 and 18 months – 3 years in room 226.  Church members lovingly care for children during this time.  We have set up a number system so that you can quickly be reached if your child needs you.  We also have an area for nursing moms and sleeping babies.

Our NURSERY is a clean and safe environment for children ages infant to 3 years old.  We do background checks on all our volunteers working with children.

If your child is age 3 years through First Grade they can go to Children’s Worship. We are attempting to make worship a time when children learn by joining their parents in prayer and praise.  Children will remain in worship with their parents until the sermon.  At this time, children three years — first grade will have the option to attend Children’s Worship.  They will learn about aspects of worship such as prayer, music, tithing, etc.  These children will return following the sermon to finish worshiping with their parents.

What should I wear?
Most people come to Spring Run dressed casually; khakis, jeans, and a collared shirt.
